First, we take a good look
Before anything is cleaned, we examine the piece carefully.
We look at its materials, age, condition, hallmarks and any areas that may need particular attention.
Cleaning with care
Different materials need different approaches. Silver, for example, can often respond beautifully to gentle cleaning, while jewellery may require a much more delicate touch.
It’s not about making things shiny
The aim isn’t to make an antique look brand new. Cleaning and preservation should enhance a piece without removing the character that comes with age.
The finishing touches
Once cleaned, the item is carefully checked, photographed and prepared for a new journey
It’s a process we genuinely enjoy.
“You never quite know what you’re going to discover when an old piece first arrives, and sometimes a little patience and careful attention can reveal details that have been hidden for years.”
