1927 W.J. Myatt & Co. Sterling Silver Photo Frame
With its clean lines and polished silver surround, this frame has a timeless look that suits both traditional and modern interiors. It takes an 8 x 6 inch photograph, a generous size that is ideal for a wedding portrait, a family photograph or a treasured print, and at approximately 24cm × 18.5cm overall it makes a handsome display piece on a mantelpiece, sideboard, dressing table or desk.
The frame retains its original wooden back panel and easel stand, allowing it to be displayed upright.
Condition
The silver frame shows a few small, light dings, together with light surface wear, all of which can be seen in the accompanying photographs and video. Please note that the back panel is slightly loose, although this does not affect its ability to securely hold a photograph.
Please study the photographs and video carefully, as they form an important part of the description and condition report. If you would like extra photographs before you buy, just contact us.

About W.J. Myatt & Co., Birmingham Silversmiths
W.J. Myatt & Co. were Birmingham silversmiths, and this frame was made in 1927, when the city was one of Britain’s main centres for making silver photograph frames, dressing table items and small decorative pieces. Birmingham-made frames from this period remain popular with collectors of early 20th-century hallmarked silver.
Why Choose an Antique Sterling Silver Photo Frame?
A sterling silver photo frame brings a sense of quality and occasion to a favourite photograph that a modern frame rarely matches. Hallmarked frames from the 1920s are nearly a century old, yet remain practical to use every day. They also make a lasting gift for a wedding, anniversary, christening or special birthday – a piece that can be enjoyed and handed down. Caring for Your Silver Frame
Dust the frame regularly with a soft cloth and polish occasionally with a silver polishing cloth, taking care to keep polish and moisture away from the wooden back and the photograph. Displaying the frame away from damp areas will help to slow down tarnishing.
