About This Lladro Nao Porcelain Figurine

The boy sits on his rucksack with one knee raised, cradling a small brown rabbit in his arm and gazing down at it. He wears a pale hooded coat with toggles, soft blue trousers and dark boots, all finished in the gentle glazed tones that collectors love. It is a tender little scene, and the details on this Lladro Nao porcelain figurine reward a closer look.

About Nao by Lladro

Nao is a Spanish porcelain brand from the family behind Lladro, established in the late 1960s near Valencia. Its figurines share the same soft colours and graceful style as Lladro pieces, and they are often a more affordable way to start collecting Spanish porcelain. Children and animals are among its best loved subjects, so a Lladro Nao porcelain figurine like this one is a classic example of the range.

Displaying Your Figurine

At around 19cm high, this figurine is a good size for a mantelpiece, shelf, dressing table or display cabinet. The soft blues and creams sit nicely alongside other porcelain, and a position near a lamp or window will help to bring out the sheen of the glaze. It would also look lovely in a child’s bedroom or nursery as a special keepsake, kept safely out of reach of little hands.

A Thoughtful Gift

A Lladro Nao porcelain figurine makes a lovely present for a christening, a new baby or a birthday, and the rabbit adds extra charm for anyone who loves animals. It would also make a fitting gift for someone born in 1989, or a welcome addition to a collection of Nao, Lladro or other Spanish porcelain.

Caring for Your Porcelain

Dust your figurine regularly with a soft, dry brush, paying attention to the small details around the rabbit and rucksack. If it needs more of a clean, use a soft cloth dampened with lukewarm water and a little mild soap, then dry it carefully. Avoid the dishwasher, harsh chemicals and sudden changes of temperature, and handle it with both hands, supporting it from the base.
